Charnwood Stroke Club

Meets:                        Weekly group sessions

Time: 9:45 – 13:30

Organisers:               David King and Simon Watts

Affiliated with:       The Stroke Association and Voluntary Action Charnwood

Purpose/Aims: To improve the quality of life of people in Charnwood who have been affected by stroke.

Members can attend sessions on from 9.30am – 1.45pm every week.  Our sessions provide a range of activities for members including games, competitions, weekly raffle, group lunches, films, presentations etc. Alternatively, Members can bring along a book/magazine or their own activity and enjoy it over a cup of tea and a chat with others.

In addition, we organise regular trips and outings at a subsidised rate for all our members so that they do not miss out on shopping or visiting places of interest.

Become a member

Our members are a diverse community coming from all across the borough. We are always happy to welcome new people throughout the year.

Where possible we try to keep costs low for all our members. A small charge of £2.50 helps us deliver the sessions, there is also a charge for transport if provided by John Storer House.

Lunchtime meals are also provided at a reasonable cost.

If you are interested in joining Charnwood Stroke Club, please get in touch with our organisers (details overleaf) who will be happy to provide further information.

Volunteer with us

Charnwood Stroke Club is entirely volunteer led and without our incredible team we would not be able to provide our valuable service. Volunteering can be a rewarding way to use your skills and

knowledge to help people in your community so why not get in touch today to find out more about the roles we have available.
