Our History

Loughborough United Reformed Church (URC) has a rich history rooted in faith, community, and transformation.

  • Founded in 1828 as Loughborough Congregational Church, our church was originally located in Ashby Square.
  • In 1908, we moved to our current location at the corner of Frederick Street and Heathcoat Street, where we continue to serve our community today.
  • In the early 1970s, the Congregational Churches and Presbyterian Churches in England and Wales united to form the United Reformed Church (URC), and we became part of this vibrant denomination.

Our Place in the United Reformed Church

We are proud to be part of the East Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church, a community of churches working together to share God’s love and serve our communities.
